There are six full-page photographs of sculpture by Henry Moore, dating between 1951 and 1958 (Plates 5,52,58,180,190,210). In a chapter The Problem of Meaning King and Queen, 1952-1953 bronze is noted as symbolic, and in Draped Reclining Woman, 1957-1958 bronze Moore's main theme is described as plastic form. In the chapter The Problem of Purpose, Upright Motives are seen as primeval plastic forms" and "monuments without a site". Bouwcentrum Wall Relief 1955 brick is a "tense composition evoking the walls of burnt-out houses and ruined cities is more than mere ornament". The U.N.E.S.C.O. Reclining Figure 1957-1958 travertine marble is relaxed calm and powerful in a discussion on sculpture and architecture.
