Description: Book of M.O.M.A. exhibition travelling to the Art Institute of Chicago (See also 0008798) and San Francisco Museum of Art. Distributed by Simon and Schuster, New York. Exhibition opening and Copyright 1946, printed January 1947. 58 Sculptures 1922-1946 and 48 Drawings 1928-1946. The text summarises Moore's life, influences and work in sculpture and drawing up to 1946. It incorporates some statements and quotations from the writings of Henry Moore. Primitive art influences, the approach to materials and carving, the War Drawings, and the Reclining Figures of immediately before and after the war are discussed. The first of the Family Groups, and the Northampton Madonna and Child, 1943-1944 Hornton stone are also featured.
