John Swope was an American photographer, born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 1908. He became interested in photography in 1936 and joined Life Magazine as a freelancer in 1946. He photographed Moore in Perry Green twice, in April 1972 and January 1973; he also photographed the Mostra di Henry Moore exhibition in Florence in May 1972, and sculptures by Henry Moore in collections in Australia and the USA.
