Irina, the model for this drawing, made the original mount of beige and white wallpaper with a border painted gold and decorated with a geometrical pattern in black ink. The drawing was originally owned by William Rothenstein, Principal of the Royal College of Art, who had known both Moore and Irina since their student days in 1921.
