More InformationNotebook No.5 p.1. The six pieces of stone illustrated here were probably stored in the garden of the schoolhouse at Wighton, where Moore's sister Mary had lived. When she moved in 1925, the stone was left behind. In an article in the Architectural Association Journal (May 1930) Moore wrote of 'masses in opposition' when describing the sculpture which moved him most.
