More InformationThis row of heads [LH X55- LH X63] were try-outs for the two sculptures for the local church. my great friend (and the patriarch of our village) asked me to do the sculptures after it was discovered that the two corbel heads on the arch of the porchway were not original but cement casts. As they were going to reconstruct the porch he thought it was a shame to put back what they knew were reconstructions when there was a sculptor living in the village. He asked if I would do them. I decided I was going to make them fit in with the old porch as best I could. I think they do.
