This is one of twelve drawings (HMF 1042-1052) of Irina Moore, the dating of which is problematical since some are dated 1933, some 1934, and others 1935. However, given their similarity of style and subject matter, as well as Moore's haphazard approach to signing his work, their archival position as a sequence drawn in 1933 has been maintained in the catalogue. This decision is strengthened by the fact that all the signatures of those dated 1933 appear to be contemporaneous, whereas those of 1934 and 1935 seem to have been added later.
