This drawing also presages HMF 1238 and 1240; see also HMF 1117 and 1122. Moore added both signature and date several years after completing the drawing. In 1952, on a visit to the Villa Giulia in Rome, Moore spent much time admiring and studying the famous Etruscan double sarcophagus but it is not known whether he visited the museum whilst he was in Italy in 1925.
