Mays writes enthusiastically of early carvings but later works are seen as clichés, with reclining women good for nothing except breeding and brooding" with Moore "the darling of the macho North American business elite".
Reclining Figure: Wedge Base 1981 silver is seen as "a repulsive idea...mere brooch-production...the complete falsification both of humanity and of art"."
