Description: 24 May 1987 T.V. Museum programme on occasion of opening of the Henry Moore Collection at the Hakone Open Air Museum. Shows opening ceremonies, speeches, cutting tape by Prince and Princess. Includes brief interviews with four Japanese sculptors who acknowledge Moore's influence. Interview with Bernard MEADOWS who recalls working as Moore's assistant as a young man. Interview with Sam HUNTER who provides a short commentary on Family Group, 1948-1949 bronze, Atom Piece (Working Model for Nuclear Energy), 1964-1965 bronze, and Reclining Figure: Arch Leg, 1969-1970 bronze. Sixteen of the eighteen additions to the collection come from George ABLAH who expresses his pleasure at the setting. The Museum now has 21 Moore sculptures, and these are seen throughout the programme. There is also a very brief extract from the 1979 Fuji film (See 0002597).

Includes film of the opening, with the formal speeches by Nobutaka SHIKANAI, the Museum's Director, and Bernard MEADOWS, the Director of the Henry Moore Foundation. Cutting tape by their Imperial Highnesses. The sculptures are seen, and there are extracts from the 1979 Fuji film (See 0002597). The main part of the film is the evening interview between the presenter and sculptor, Mrs. Minami TADA who comments on Moore, his work, and her favourite pieces.
