Photographs of Reclining Figure, 1939 elm wood by Laughlin, together with a short text on the lighting and documentary-or-interpretation approach to photographing sculpture. The Onslow-Ford Reclining Figure was on loan to San Francisco Museum of Art when photographed and is described as among the most significant statuaries of our time". The feminine nature of the work is expressed and its "smaller supplementary form with a sort of serpent-like head" noted. Emotional and literary overtones arose in the photographs. See also 0007515.
