This and the following drawing (HMF 348) were executed on the same paper, torn from a book; the versos of both bear a fragment of a printed image, possibly a sculpture of an African head. Although both drawings were later dated 1923 by Moore, they were assigned to 1925 because of their stylistic similarity to HMF 345 and HMF 346.
