More InformationThe Moores had recently acquired this wood carving of a standing figure from northern Nigeria which they kept in the sitting-room at Hoglands. Moore seems to have been interested in the upper half of the figure with its simple drapery over the head. Of the studies he made, only HMF 83(41) shows the whole carving.
