More Information

The partially legible inscription appears to be the draft of a letter to someone concerned with the printing of the lithograph Spanish Prisoner CGM 3, which was being proofed at Camberwell School of Art at the end of 1939 and early 1940. Moore himself was teaching at Chelsea School of Art which had closed for the autumn term in 1939 but reopened for the spring and summer terms of 1940 before being evacuated to Northampton.
