Moore had received a copy of The Florence Baptistery Doors with an introduction by Lord (Kenneth) Clark and photographs by David Finn.  From these photographs he sketched several of the sculptures by Andrea Pisano and Lorenzo Ghiberti.  See also comments for HMF 80(255)
