More Information

These sketches, based on HMF 1416 of 1938 and later repeated in HMF 3194 verso of 1969, were drawn on the half-title page of Henry Moore on Sculpture (James 1966) for Leonard Lyons, a columnist on the New York Post who collected books on artists which he then persuaded the subjects, among them Braque, Picasso, Miró and Magritte, to draw in or inscribe.
