2017 London, Makers House, Burberry, Henry Moore: Inspiration and Process

21 February 2017 - 27 February 2017
More Information
As the Henry Moore Foundation celebrates its 40th anniversary, we are delighted to announce a unique collaboration with Burberry which shows one of Britain’s greatest sculptors in a fascinating new light.

Burberry’s new February 2017 collection for men and women is inspired by Henry Moore’s work and process. The artist’s take on scale, shape and texture is translated into sculptural silhouettes, asymmetric designs, oversize proportions and deconstructed elements.

A major exhibition - entitled Henry Moore: Inspiration & Process - presents Burberry’s new February collection alongside the work of the artist that inspired it. The show opens at Makers House, London,
following the global unveiling of the February collection.

Henry Moore: Inspiration & Process features more than 40 sculptures, including monumental bronzes, working models and maquettes. The exhibition also includes facsimiles of Moore’s exploratory sketches known as his Transformation Drawings.

Visitors to Makers House will be able to explore Moore’s working methods, trace the evolution of his iconic sculptural ideas and see how the artist is continuing to inspire contemporary creativity.

The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of free workshops, events and acoustic performances.

2024 Perry Green, Sculpture, Inspiration and our Natural Worlds
28 March 2024 - 03 November 2024
Exhibition Info: In 2024, a selection of over twenty of Moore’s bronzes will be displayed in the landscape adjacent to the studios where he developed his ideas. Natural and human forms can be seen to have inspired sculptures across all of Moore’s most iconic themes: the mother and child, the reclining figure, and the juxtaposition of internal / external forms. A number of Moore’s multi-part reclining figures, where he asks the viewer to imaginatively piece together the body, are joined by some of his purest organic abstractions in which we can trace the journey from handheld pebble to monumental work.
