The Henry Moore Foundation collection is made up of around 15,000 works including sculpture, maquettes, drawings, prints, tapestries and textiles.

First formed in 1977, when Moore donated all his unsold artwork to the Foundation, our collection is one of the most comprehensive single-artist collections in the world. Enriched over the years by further gifts and acquistions, today we continue to collect with the aim of making our holdings fully representative of Moore's entire career.

The collection can be widely seen through an extensive programme of international exhibitions and loans. In this way we hope to realise Moore's original ambition for the Foundation, which had been inspired by the Arts Council’s model of touring exhibitions, to encourage public appreciation of the arts.
