Description: Both Henry Moore's works and the sculptures of ancient México have great artistic value. The nationalistic suggestion that Moore owes his artistic importance to Pre-Columbian sculpture is seen as a clumsy campaign using art for political ends. Moore's importance is not in the Reclining Figure, but in the combination of volume with cavity. Our perception of Chacmool has been Moorised" (Moorizado) rather than vice versa. Also in El Universal 21 March 1983 (See 0010289)."
