More InformationReport on hearing about Circular Altar, 1972 Roman travertine marble. Spencer Maurice, for the Archdeacon of London, claimed it offended against church doctrine. Although it was a beautiful artefact, it was not acceptable as a holy table but could be a subsidiary altar in a provincial cathedral.
